Should I tips movers?

Tip Movers

Moving from one home to another is a rather stressful period. A common question customer asks if its customary to tip movers. In California or specifically in San Diego we find it normal to tip our waiters, Uber/ Lyft driver and hair dressers. Below you will find the answers you need, and if you should tip your movers.

Do you tip your movers?

Yes! Your movers will never stand and wait for tip, it isn’texpected, however your movers deserve a tip. Unlike a food service, if an orderis wrong it can be remade, movers are trained to make sure none of your most prizedpossessions get damaged. A lot of what your movers move are irreplaceable. Ifyour movers do a good job and your items are received in the same condition, movers should be tipped. They will highly appreciate it and will feel likethey did a good job. On the other hand, if movers do not receive a tip thenthey will assume you were not satisfied with the service or that the serve wasnot completed correctly.

How much do I tip my movers?

You can tip your movers in different ways. Some may tipbased on a percentage, similar to a restaurant 5%-15% and split it among thecrew. Usually for a small job 3-5 hours it normal to tip $10-$35 to each mover. For a medium job, its recommended to tip $20-$50 to each mover. For a large jobits recommended to tip $20-$100 per mover. Tipping is of course optional and dependson your level of satisfaction towards the move. We Like To Move It movers are alwaysdetermined to exceed our customer service at every time.

Our movers are not entitled to a tip and our rules don’tallow them to ask for one. Who wants that stress at the end of a long day?
